It has been an interesting week. The law firms who defended banks for their poor culture (and retailers for their poor salary compliance) are now on the back foot - for poor culture and salary compliance.
My background is law, so I have lived the ‘head down, bum up...in 10 yrs time this will pay back’ culture.
Twenty years on, I get the consulting (aka ‘leverage’) model.
What I don’t get is that the very people who profess to advise industry haven’t foreseen, recognised nor understood how the world has changed.
Significantly.

>>Long hours are baked into the type of work BCG carries out, but Mr Lesser said it was ultimately the responsibility of consultants to speak up if they were working unsustainable hours.
"The kinds of problems we work on are really challenging and very high stakes. So we don't pretend to people this is like a nine to five kind of place. That's not our world. But we've put a lot of effort into how to work smarter and how we create more predictability," Mr Lesser told [AFR] during a trip to Sydney.<<
Sorry, this is completely wrong.
LinkedIn character limits don’t allow me to elucidate. But hit me up for a coffee sometime...
