Watched a Bitcoin documentary last weekend which, to be honest, was ordinary.

But the narrator observed as follows, which reasonated with me:

“The thing about story telling is the story you expect is never the one you find”

Obviously, this is a bit of a journalistic trope or motherhood statement.

But I’ve got to say, if you swap ‘story telling’ with ‘transformation’, this pretty much sums the past two decades of my life.

It was quite eye opening how simply one could distil the frustrating and rapturously complex reality of human + behavioural +organisational change.

Fighting for transformation in the trenches is complex, labourious, challenging and rewarding.

Two decades on, I can attest that the destination is rarely what the client expected. On good days, that’s a positive.
