Well, this is somewhat concerning (a new report from AI Forensics - https://aiforensics.org/):

>>
The investigation involved analysing over 60,000 book recommendations and search queries across Belgian and French stores. As books remain an essential resource to turn to when wanting to expand one’s knowledge, it is concerning to observe that search results for queries like “COVID” or “Vaccination” almost exclusively (8 books out of ten in average) yield anti-vaccination or conspiratorial results. In France, half of the search results related to Climate Change mislead the public on scientific consensus. Once a user clicks on a result, the study found, they remain trapped in communities of books co-recommended by Amazon, requiring dozens of successive clicks to escape them.

This extensive research, spanning several weeks, reveals Amazon's significant influence on public discourse and knowledge, often steering users towards misleading content.
