The Radical Small Team Thesis Is Getting Harder to Argue Against

Peter Yang made a point this week that I think is underappreciated in Australian business circles: coding agents aren't just making developers faster. They're changing the fundamental unit of a company.

Here's what that actually looks like in practice:
1. A team of 5 with agents can now do what 50 engineers did three years ago
2. The constraint shifts from headcount to judgment — who decides what to build
3. Traditional org charts become liabilities, not assets
4. Hiring for "culture fit" at scale becomes irrelevant if scale itself is optional (if anything, companies will be hiring for 'creative friction')
5. The companies staying radically small aren't scrappy - they're deliberate

This isn't a startup-only conversation. Any organisation adding headcount to solve a problem that an agent could handle is making a structural bet that becomes harder to unwind. The question worth sitting with: what would your org look like if you started it today, knowing what these tools can do?
